Happy Sunday, 

Today has been such a long day, because last night I was out with friends and as I was going home the clock changed an hour ahead making me lose an hour of sleep! So right now I am completely exhausted because I also had to work 6 hours today, can this day be over already !!!

But anyways other than me complaining about getting no sleep, I have another update for you guys and it turns out that I will be playing the role of the girl in the film and my best friend Brandon will be playing the guy. ..And Amanda herself will be the director. (Camera women) Making this decision Amanda and I had debated it alot because we want this film to be the best it can, and If Brandon and I act this role together, the filming process will run smoothly unlike with anybody else.This is really good for Amanda and I because Brandon is very flexible with his schedule and he’s also my closest friend so I feel very comfortable with him. Meaning that the process of filming will not at all be awkwards for us. It will also help the acting look more natural and not forced. Below I will be posting a picture of Amanda (director) and both Brandon and I just for you readers to be  able to visualize us!

Hi Hi Hi,

Let's talk about filming.. This last few weeks have been non stop for both Amanda and I, and have literally had no time to be able to film and if I am going to be honest with you guys, I do not think that we will be filming this week either. This saturday I have to take my last SAT so I have been studying like crazy for it, along with having work every other day there is just not enough hours in the day!

But I do believe that Amanda and I will start filming in the start of next week. Other than just talking about our filming schedules I want to talk to you all about what apps we will be using to film. 

In class the other day we had a class discussion about the different websites and apps everyone is using to edit, and our teacher Tina made a suggestion to buy the app called FiLMiC Pro, this app has many features and will be enhancing the quality of our footage. Other than just using this app like Amanda and I do every year we will be using wevideo to be editing our project, but we do want to try to use Imovie as well because we did hear that there are good features on this as well. As always I will update you guys with more.

Back again, 

As we get closer to filming Amanda and I keep brainstorming ideas of our short film and picking out every single important detail in order to make our film the best that it could possibly be. So I am going to get right into it and talk to you guys about Mise-en-scène, with this being said we want the setting of this film to give off a (70 & 80s) time frame. In order to do this we need to have a setting that gives off these surroundings and living in weston, we don’t have any of this near us so we would need to travel far in order to get this environment.

 As I did my research I found a place named Jaxon’s that is 30 minutes away from my house, and it does give off the time frame that we won't so we will hopefully film there, but I know that someone in my class did mention that we will need permission by the owner in order to film there. This is definitely one of the options for the setting but we still are looking around, but for now Ananda and I have set a time frame and this is what we are looking into.

Today we reached out to our peers in class to have a group discussion about our genre and storyline and they suggested that we should change it, for various reasons. As Amanda and I took these reasons into consideration the class and us came up with the idea of us going towards the Romantic Comedy genre. 

    For now the genre we will be using in our portfolio will be Romantic Comedy y, we would also like to open up our short film with the idea of having a guide (how to guide) aAn example would be like How to get your parents to like you.So Amanda and I discussed that out opening to the short film could be with the typewriter sounds and words that say… How to be the best boyfriend or girlfriend. Or even How to have your boyfriend. We hope that we

could make a very funny and cute romantic comedy with this genre and idea of how to.

I hope that we can make this short film super funny, and entertaining for all of our viewers!! More updates coming soon!

      Now that Amanda and I have set the genre that we will be using for this portfolio project we also started to somewhat outline the plot and idea that we would like to create. Our genre is Romance, most romances are basic but Amanda and I wanted to dig deeper and do something that is more different then a basic romance. Amanda and I do not want to have a basic romance like the fault in our starts, were the main character dies of an illness, Amanda and I are striving for something original and creative.

       As we brainstormed we came up with the idea of using ''black and white'' in our film to represent some kind of past. The black and white was inspired by the movie that was shown to us in class, the movie was called ''Momento''. We hope that this technique that we will be using can help us come up with an original and creative storyline, which makes the romance film harder to read and not easy to know the plot.

With this black and white technique we would like to create a love story in which the main characters don't remember the ''past'', past life that they had once loved each other. We either wanted to go that kind of route or use the black and white effect to tell this story backwards. Amanda and I have not figured out exactly the story that we will be telling but we definitely want us to be able to use this black and white technique making this Romance a little different from the ones that are originally told. 

Good news!

        Amanda and I have set the genre that we will be using in our portfolio project! Drum roll please..... It's officially a romance! Amanda and I have taken a lot of consideration into our genre and we thought that this would be the best theme for us to use. We took a lot of things into consideration when picking this theme including the tools and techniques that we will need to be using. Amanda and I were choosing between many different genres but we felt that with this genre it will allow us to be creative, and different.

         Some of the techniques that we will need to be focusing on with this genre will be the kind of shots that will be taken, like close ups (which are very important when showing a characters expression and emotions) and especially over the shoulder shots (so we can show a relationship between the two characters.) We feel that the camera shots will be a huge part of our project and we will be heavily focusing on these shots, and putting them exactly were they need to be.

         In this project I feel that we really need to focus on character development and what I mean by this. Is who are the two characters in this relationship?and what qualities do they bring out in each other? Constantly reflecting back on these two questions I hope that Amanda and I will be able to show the true meaning of the relationship that we would love for the audience to be able to see. We hope to dig deep into the relationship and show the real connection that these two characters have between each other.

Hi everyone!

        I just landed in California yesterday and it has been beautiful so far and extremely hectic. Today I am going to go into more depth about a schedule that Amanda and I will have to follow. This week Amanda and I are going to have a set theme and storyline that we will like to do. But other than just figuring out the plot this week Amanda and I have discussed how it is now time for us to get on track with our time management because as of now we have none.

       This week I will be out in California so I will be unable to sketch a storyboard, but Amanda and I should have a description in depth of the plot and idea that we would love to create. (We are starting to want to create a Romantic plot)

       For now Amanda has work from Monday-friday. I work Tuesday,Thursday, and Saturday from 9am-6pm, and Sunday from 10am-3:30pm. So our schedules are very busy, and we do not work with each other. But Amanda and I have decided to work mainly as Sundays together for as many hours as we possibly can, and work during the week in class, and over the phone as much as we possibly can. With the hectic schedule that we both have, we agreed to use google calendar to stay on track, i will update you guys on how effective this will is with us !
