As we get closer and closer to filming, my partner Amanda and I have many creative ideas. We keep seconding guessing what we want to create. Although I think we found out what we would like to do. Even though we had done a lot of research on Horror, we have decided to go with a genre that suits us better. Our new genre for our film opening will be Drama, and we chose this genre because we feel like we could relate more. Amanda and I knew we would be capable of presenting something better this way.

Then we started researching Drama, we found it very appealing to us. Amanda and I knew right away that we would want to use this genre for our film opening.Drama films include many strategies including flashbacks,storytelling,and emotion. Amanda and I have come up with a story about a teenage girl. In the film opening you see a young girl that doesn’t fit in, this girl has been getting bullied throughout high school. By the end of the film opening you are able to see that this girl is ready to change and be on top. Using the strategies to create drama this teenage girl will be having flashbacks,a story behind everything, and many emotions.

While researching I decided to look into the hit series of “13 reasons why”. This show’s genre is drama and did they amazing job targeting young teenagers. In this show they brought so much emotion in what actually happens in young teenagers lives. By doing this many teenagers were able to relate to this show and attach themselves. Amanda and I knew we would have a far more difficult time producing a horror film opening, but then realized that we could produce an amazing drama film that relates to us. We now know what film opening we would like to create and we are beyond excited.
